ARTWORK QUESTIONS

What is the artwork policy?

At 615Transfers, we understand the importance of high-quality artwork when it comes to creating custom DTF transfers and ready-to-print gang sheets. To ensure the best results for your products, we have implemented an uploaded artwork policy that outlines the guidelines and requirements for submitting your artwork.

File Formats:

We accept artwork files in the following formats: PNG, PDF, and AI/PSD. These formats ensure that your artwork is compatible with our printing process and can be accurately reproduced on the transfers or gang sheets. All submitted files must be 300DPI with a transparent background. Please email all AI/PSD and PDF files.

Resolution:

For optimal results, uploaded artwork be at least 300 DPI (dots per inch). This high resolution ensures that your designs are sharp, clear, and vibrant when printed onto the transfers or gang sheets.

Color Mode:

Please submit your artwork in CMYK color mode. This color mode is specifically designed for printing and will ensure accurate color reproduction on the transfers or gang sheets. We can print RGB images, but they will be converted to CMYK and we cannot guarantee the colors will be true or accurate to the original image. To learn more about CMYK and our policies regarding CMYK check out our blog post here.

Bleed:

If your artwork extends to the edge of the transfer or gang sheet, please include a bleed of at least 0.125 inches. This extra space ensures that there are no white borders or gaps when the transfers or gang sheets are cut.

IE: Please make sure your file is not wider than 22.25". If the file is larger than 22.25" some of your images may be cut off.

Custom DTF Transfer Image Sizes:

All images submitted will adhere to our size guide. If you order a 10" DTF, the max height we will print the image is 11". We allow for a 1" height differential. For further examples:

EX1: The length of the image will not be larger than 13" on 12" adult DTFs. Images will be resized to the max heigh of 13" if original height exceeds 12".

EX2: The length of the image will not be larger than 9" on 8" DTFs. Images will be resized to the max heigh of 9" if original height exceeds 8".

KEEP THIS IN MIND FOR VERY NARROW OR SKINNY IMAGES.

Ready To Print Gang Sheet Guidelines:

Ensure that your artwork is print-ready because no edits will be made to your artwork. Gang Sheets are calculated as low as $3.50/sq foot. You can set up a gang sheet in Canva, Photoshop or PowerPoint.

Communication:

Artwork approval can take up to 2 business days. You will be emailed if your artwork is not approved to make corrections or redirected to our artwork correction fee. Ensure to keep an eye on your email to avoid missing an email regarding your orders and artwork. If you are unable to communicate using email, please leave a note with your best form of contact.

Processing Time:

What color mode do you print in?

All printers print in CMYK, but we can still print your RGB images. There may be a color difference since we convert the images to CMYK. Please email to ensure we can color match for you.

What is the difference between RGB and CMYK?

What's the difference between CMYK and RGB?

Great question! We get this question a lot since we can only print in CMYK and it is listed in our artwork policy. Let's take a moment and break down the color differences and answer some more questions.

  • CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and "Key," or black) are the ink colors used during the printing process. The term "key" is used instead of "black" because, really, this is a mixture of the cyan, magenta, and yellow inks — the resulting "black" can be minutely different from one printing company to another.
  • RGB (Red, Green, and Blue) are the colors of light used by your monitor to display your document on-screen. Black is not listed because on-screen black is an absence of light. A mixture of red, green, and blue light produces white.

How does this affect your artwork?
Any image you create on your computer should be created in CMYK mode. This will ensure that the colors you see on-screen will most closely match the final printed product. If you create your document in RGB, the colors in your printed product may vary slightly: many of the bright values produced by your monitor cannot be exactly reproduced in print or have to be edited to get as close as a color match as

A lot of digital images are JPEG files, and JPEGs are almost always in RGB.

Note: All printers, regardless of their type, are unable to print in RGB.

How can you check what color mode you're in?
You can check what color code you're in under settings when creating a canvas in AI, PS, and Procreate. Canva is automatically in RGB and cannot be changed so keep that in mind.

How can we ensure images are color matched?
If you didn't create your image or don't know if it was made in CMYK, just send us an email and we can try our best to get as close of a color match as possible. Chris is a Color Match King and works hard correcting images for the best print outcome possible.

Can I still have my RGB images printed?
OF COURSE! We can and do still print RGB images. They just automatically get converted to CMYK when we print and that means the colors(or hues) may not match perfectly, or can vary from design to design. If you need the colors to be exact, make sure to email your RGB image first and discuss with Chris.

What is resolution? Why 300DPI?

Resolution directly relates to how is how crisp and clear your images will print at. The higher the dpi, the better the quality.

Your artwork needs to be created at a resolution of 300 dpi. Images taken from the Internet have a low resolution of 72 dpi and will be pixelated. If purchasing an image from a source, please make sure that you choose a high-resolution image of 300 dpi.

Why did my image get resized?

If your image was resized, it didn't meet our size requirements.

You don't want a 10in by 20in sized transfer for a t-shirt.

What file types are accepted?

We accept artwork files in the following formats: PNG, PDF, and AI/PSD. These formats ensure that your artwork is compatible with our printing process and can be accurately reproduced on the transfers or gang sheets.

Please email all AI/PSD and PDF files to support@615transfers.com

LET'S MAKE A COLLAGE

GANG SHEET QUESTIONS

What is a gang sheet?

A gang sheet is like a collage of all your images that you need printed. You can add all the sizes and images that you can fit, with room to cut them out, on a 22x60. Submitting a 22x60 gang sheet can be time and cost effective when you need multiple images printed.

What is the Bleed Zone?

While we do print up to 23x60 in one sheet, we recommend that you keep your gang sheets out of the bleed zone. The Bleed zone is the portion of the image that may get cut off. Since we print your gangs sheets on an oversized sheet that gets trimmed down, we require that the images fit within that size so they don't trimmed or cut off.

What is the ready to print gang sheet policy?

Ensure that your artwork is print-ready because no edits will be made to your artwork.

How much are gang sheets?

Gang Sheets are calculated as low as $3.50/sq foot.

How can I make my own gang sheet?

You can set up a gang sheet in Canva, Photoshop or PowerPoint.

We have a blog listed here that shows you step-by-step.

We also offer a gang sheet builder on our website- Build Your Own Gang.
